Are you ready to bring your work out into the wide world but don’t know where to start? Very likely, you’ll want to find either a literary agent or a publisher. Some publishers accept submissions direct from authors; others don’t and will only deal with you through an agent. Either way, you’ll need a compelling query package that captures the attention of the right people.
What’s a query package? It’s a synopsis or outline of your work, which may include a list of chapters, the length of your work, your bio, an analysis of your intended readership and the competition and the all-important query letter. That letter has to convince the reader that your work is unique and essential and that you are the only person in the world who could have written it.
Putting that a bit strongly, maybe, but you get the idea.
